My Windows 7 Ultimate RC was ready to expire, so I took the plunge and purchased.
The retail version is about 290 give or take and the Oem version is close to 200.
A lot of money to be sure. Shocked
As I was getting ready to buy, a thought came to me. How much is a Technet Direct  subscription?
Turns out it was about 350 dollars. I did a search for discounts, and came up with a 25% discount code. ok

After taxes and everything, it turned out to be 274. w00t

Now I have windows 7 ultimate running on my netbook and the desktop I'm on now, and Office 2007 Ultimate on both as well.

And add to that, I have all the software I could ever want at my fingertips smitten
