We've had an incredibly difficult time dealing with spammers here at The Pond.
There have been times that over one hundred spam accounts a day were registered and frankly it got a bit tiresome deleting and banning all the perps.
At first we stopped new registrations period. After a month or so when the wave had passed us by, registration was re-enabled but with a change; new registrations must now be approved by an administrator and your email must be verified before your account is activated.
We would really like to keep using the honor system, but spammers have no honor and we have to deal with it in a manor more harsh than preferred.
If you'd like to register, feel free, but it may take a day before you can post. Please be patient, we do approve most people to join.
